n 1948, a dream of Wade H. Cumby and his wife, Edith, was fulfilled when the Cumby Family Funeral Service was established. The location would be at 610 West Broad Street in High Point.

Mr. Cumby would serve as President and Mrs. Cumby as Secretary and Treasurer. It was their desire to provide caring attention and service to families during a devastating time in their lives.
