Mr. Fred Lane Swartzberg

Mr. Fred Lane Swartzberg, 87, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Swartzberg was born on March 16, 1927 in High Point a son of the late Benjamin and Mollie (Mirvis) Swartzberg.  He was a former co-owner of Tobias.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Swartzberg is survived by his children, Cyndi Swartzberg Maltby  of Greensboro and her daughter, Anna Lane of Wilmington, Sally Swartzberg  Koblitz and husband, Alan and their children, Brooke and Bryan Koblitz all of Alpharetta, Georgia, step children Peter Engel and wife Helen and their children of Livingston, New Jersey, Cathy Oresman and husband Robert and their children of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and James Engel of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the High Point Hebrew Cemetery on North Main Street, High Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to B’nai Israel Synagogue, 1207 Kensington Drive, High Point, NC  27262 or to the charity of their choice.
