Joe Giles

Joseph Willington “Joe” Giles, 74, a resident of Trinity, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012.
He was born June 8, 1938 in Cumberland County, NC, to the late Erskine Giles and Maggie Porter Giles.  He had worked for Norling Studios for over 30 years, and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. At his church, he had served as a Deacon, a bus driver for the senior adults, and had served in many other capacities. He loved his church family, photography, learning the Spanish language and speaking it. In addition to his parents, he was a preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Marie Giles.  On May 30, 1959, he was married to Carol Tew, she survives of the home.

Also surviving are his children; Paul Giles and his wife Toni of Trinity, Carol Sue Kennedy of Trinity, and Eric Giles of Thomasville, 2 sisters, Jessie Silber and her husband Bill of Hartsvville, TN, and Grace Surles of Linden, NC, 5 grandchildren; Lauren Giles Fulk and her husband Chris,  Macy Giles, Abby Giles, Rachel Giles and Emily Giles, his great grandson; Thailan Fulk. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Joseph’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend J.C. Alley and Reverend Dennis Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
