Mr. L.H. Efird, 86, resident of 1615 Larkin St. died Sunday evening in the High Point Regional Hospital.
Mr. Efird was born Dec. 13,, 1927 in Guilford County a son of Lawrence H. and Tidy Cranford Efird. He had been a resident of High Point most of his life and was employed with Ma-Ro Hosiery and retired from Sara Lee Hosiery following 42 years of service. Mr. Efird was a member of Westchester Baptist Church, Adult IV Co-Ed II Sunday School Class , Deacon and Choir member.
On April 28, 1950 he was married to Phyllis Newton who survives of the home.
Also surviving are l daughter; Amber McRee and husband Curry of High Point, 1 Grandson; Jeremy Johnson and wife Brandy; 2 Great Grandchildren Audrey and Logan Johnson.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00p.m., from the Westchester Baptist Church by the Rev. Eric Peacock. Interment will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30p.m.until the hour of service. The body will remain at the Cumby Family Funeral Service on Eastchester Dr.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Steve Newton, Jesse White, Adam Baldwin, Jeremy Johnson and Jorden Lester. Memorials may be directed to Westchester Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5188, High Point, N.C. 27261.
