Mrs. Melba (Sparks) Pearce, 84 passed away Monday April 21, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Edward Pearce.
Mrs. Pearce was born on November 8, 1929 in Mt. Airy a daughter of the late Benjamin Russell and Naomi (Hawks) Sparks. She was a former employee of Lucent Technologies for many years until her retirement.
She attended Green Street Baptist Church when she was able.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching birds, traveling and playing with her dog Tanner.
Mrs. Pearce is survived by four children, Dennis Ray Pearce of Rancho Mirage, California, Robin Lea Clodfelter of High Point, and Charles Edward Pearce II, and his wife, Hasnah of High Point; five grandchildren, Paige Rickard of High Point, Nandi Thorn of Seattle, WA, Cicily Collins and her husband, Kasey of Plantation, Florida, Lana Pearce of Carrboro and Elinor Pearce of Asheville.
A celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2013 in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point with Rev. Tony Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
