Welcome to the memorial page for

Ms. Rachael Lauren Morris

April 23, 1982 ~ July 14, 2014 (age 32) 32 Years Old
Rachael Lauren Morris “Ray” was, and is a strong, confident deaf woman!  She lived life with an optimism that was infectious and contagious.  She was a fighter.  Rachael was born in High Point and lived most of her life here.  She touched so many lives through her journey.  She attended IHM School through 8th grade, graduated from High Point Central High School, received her Associate of Arts Degree from Peace College, and received her Bachelor of Science from University of North Carolina Greensboro.  Adversity never stopped her from dreaming and achieving.  Rachael spent her life dancing, singing and laughing.  She lived strong through many adversities that eventually took her hearing and balance, but although Rachael lost her hearing at 24, her internal iPod never stopped playing and she was not afraid to share what was playing with the world.  Those who knew Rachael certainly laughed with her, certainly cried with her, but most important were loved by her.  Her glass was always “half full”.

Rachael is survived by her parents, Billy and Susan Morris of the home and two brothers Rusty Morris and his wife Crystal, Benji Morris and his wife Suzi all of High Point.  Also surviving is her grandmother Frances Ozemont Morris of Colfax, two nieces Keller and Brewer Morris, aunts and uncles Sandy and Roger Watson, Libby and Jim Gregg, numerous cousins and thousands of friends.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Rachael Lauren Morris will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Emerywood Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Robert Ferguson officiating.  The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the church.

Rachael always knew the perfect thing to do or say to make you smile, and heaven has certainly received a very special angel.  She will be missed dearly, but will always live in our hearts and minds.  We Heart Rachael!  K, bye now.  Memorials may be directed to: Association of Late Deafened Adults (ALDA), 8038 MacIntosh Lane, Suite 2, Rockford, IL 61107 www.ALDA.org, Emerywood Baptist Church Deaf Ministry Fund, 1300 Country Club Dr., High Point, NC 27262 www.emerywoodbaptistchurch.com.
