Andrea Lee Wheless

Andrea Lee Wheless, 71, of Archdale passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Andrea was born April 5, 1946, in High Point to the late, Walter Wheless and Johnsie Moffitt Wheless.

Andrea loved life and being active with hiking, mountain biking and traveling.  Her travels allowed her to learn about many different cultures and see many unique places.  She enjoyed fine dining and shopping.  She loved puppies and was active in training of therapy Dogs.

In her community she was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point.  She was proud of her 28 years with High Point University as a Professor of Art where she named a distinguished Professor and was a distinguished Alumnus at UNC-G.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Wheless.

Those who are left to cherish her memories are, her beloved companion of 32 years, Patrick Haun, her daughter; Keena Danielle Dunham of Midland, NC, her son; Michael Breck Dunham of Utah, a brother; Larry Wheless of Durham and four grandchildren; Aiden England, Bryson, Alexander and Nicholas Dunham.

A celebration of Andrea’s life will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point. The service will be officiated by Rev. Amanda Stephenson and burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service.
