HIGH POINT - Andrew George Lemboris, 91, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Hospice Home of High Point.
He was born November 11, 1925, in Rochester, NY, and was the son of the late George Lembaris and Joan Lembaris Skarlatos. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired real estate broker, and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports and especially enjoyed golf and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Nicholas Skarlatos, an infant son, George “Skipper” Lemboris, and two sisters, Mary Skarlatos and Rose Plaseri.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Polito Lemboris, whom he married on June 5, 1948; five children, Cynthia Yantz (William) of Pittsford, NY, Eric Lemboris (Elizabeth) of Naples, FL, Mark Lemboris of Greece, NY, Scott Lemboris (Gurukirin) of Santa Cruz, NM, and Maria Lemboris Smith of High Point; three brothers, George Lembaris (Jeanette) of New York, Paul Skarlatos (Pat) of Virginia, and Spero Skarlatos (Betty) of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At Andrew’s request, his body was donated to science for the advancement of medical studies. A memorial mass celebrating Andrew’s life will be held at 11:15 AM Monday, February 20, 2017, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
