Barbara N. Auman

Barbara N. Auman, 78, passed away November 9, 2017.  She was born August 8, 1939, in Pikeville, KY, to the late Ralph and Ruth Nelson.  Her family relocated to High Point when Barbara was five years old, and she resided there for the remainder of her life.  Barbara retired from Northstate Telephone after over 20 years of service, and she was a private business owner in her last years.  She was married to the late Howard Homer Auman for 30 years.

She leaves behind her children, Kathi Auman-Einig and husband Bo Einig, Howard Timothy Auman and Nena Cribbs, and Lee Scott Auman and wife Terri Auman; grandchildren, Kelly Oliver and husband Chris, Thomas Auman and wife Sara, Glenn Scott Auman, Katie Alice Auman and Montana Leeann Auman; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Bray, Twilla Radford and Cinda Smith; one brother-in-law, Danny Auman and wife Donna; and long-time partner, JR Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Ben Hurley officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Cedar Square Friends Meeting Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express special thanks to her very gracious and loving hospice nurses and social worker, Cathy, Doris and Kat.
