Betty (Armentrout) Coggin

Betty Armentrout Coggin, a resident of Pennybryn at Maryfield died September 19, 2017. A native and lifelong resident of High Point, she was born on December 8, 1928, to the late Lauck C. and Winnie Dantzler Armentrout. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Keystone Sunday School Class and the Radiant Club. She was married on December 28, 1952, to the late James Clarence Coggin, who preceded her in death on June 20, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Coggin and Arthur Hirschfeld of Greensboro, and Susan Coggin Miller and husband Bobby of Winston-Salem; one son, James Clarence Coggin, Jr. and wife Sharon of Granite Falls; the loves of her life - her two grandsons, Matt and Will Miller; two sisters, Carolyn Bass and Ann Teague and husband John of High Point; and one sister-in-law, Dot Coggin of High Point.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2017, at First Baptist Church of High Point, 405 N. Main St., High Point, with Rev. Dr. Joel Campbell and Rev. Bruce Hartgrove officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryfield Charitable Care Fund, 109 Penny Rd., High Point, NC 27260 or to First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main St. High Point, NC, 27260. Special thanks is extended to the medical and support staff with Taylor Village at Pennybyrn at Maryfield.
