Carolyn Rose (Catlett) Lanford

Mrs. Carolyn Rose Catlett Lanford, 81, passed away Saturday, July 01, 2017, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

Born November 19, 1935, in Wake County, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Leamon B. Catlett and Estelle Holden Catlett Knight. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gene Lanford, daughter, Martha Anne Witcher, and son, Thomas E. Lanford. Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Archdale. She had a passion for children and was active in ministering in children’s Sunday School Classes throughout her lifetime. She worked as a Pharmacy Technician and following her retirement, she loved being a homemaker, tending to her family and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, John Walker Lanford and wife, Cathy; three daughters, Catherine L. Jones and husband, Bill, JoAnn Lanford, and Debra L. Nicholson; eight grandchildren, John Charles Lanford and wife, Chrystal, Christopher Hawkins and wife, Becky, Cody Lanford, Alyssa Jones, Matthew Charles Witcher, Hannah Nicholson, Chase Lanford and Wit Lanford; five great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Catlett and wife, Pat; and a sister, Sue Catlett Sneath and husband, Jerry.

Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Pastor Robert Ferguson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
