Cleo Allen Morgan

Mr. Cleo Allen Morgan, 82, of High Point, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Jamestown, NC.

Born September 19, 1934, in Guilford County, Mr. Morgan was the second son of the late Jonah Allen Morgan and Ola Mae Johnson Morgan.

A lifelong resident of High Point, Cleo began work at an early age in his family’s grocery store, Morgan’s Food Center at State Street and North Main Street.  Cleo enjoyed automobiles thus working at Texaco of Five Points, Mobil Service Station, Bucky Caviness Wrecker Service, Harvey Weaver’s Exxon Service Station, and as a Night Security Guard at Crescent Ford Motor Company.

Cleo was an avid CB Radio Operator, and he enjoyed flying with his pilot friends to the mountains and the beach and spending time with friends.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Harold Morgan and Glenn Wade Morgan.

Survivors include two nephews and two nieces, Jeffery Morgan and wife Debra of High Point, Teresa Joyce and husband Ronnie of Thomasville, Michael Morgan and wife Robin of Smithfield, and Marilyn Carter and husband Charles of Liberty; and five great nieces and nephews, Reid Joyce, Tina Mitchell, Tim Morgan, Brandon Morgan and Emily Morgan.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
