Doris Johnson Elliott

Doris Johnson Elliott, 84, of Archdale, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at High Point Medical Center.

She was born to the late Alonzie Doc Johnson and the late Nora Francis Hinshaw Johnson and was a lifelong resident of Alamance and Randolph Counties. She will always be remembered as someone who not only loved her family but loved having her family together and having a good time. When she was not traveling all over the country, you could find her either at McDonalds getting her favorite coffee or at the wonderful Pioneer Restaurant. Doris was the type who could not sit still and constantly wanted to be doing something and found joy in her garden, growing all types of vegetables. She had such a contagious personality and will be missed by all those who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, James Eugene Elliott; son, baby boy Elliott; grandson, Ryan Shelton; sisters, Mae Francis Faircloth and Rosie Mangum.

Doris is survived by her son, Mark Elliott; daughters, Pamela Overman (Charlie), Gina Shields (Tim), grandchildren, Brandon Randleman (Ellen), Lisa Parham (Alex), Brittany White (Chip), Scott Shields (Aiyana), Katie Shields; great grandchildren, Ryan Randleman, Destinyi Randleman, Aubree Rooney, Karma White, Maddox White, Hudson Parham, Kai Shields, Maddix Shields, Caroline Parham and several other great grandchildren; brother, Henry Johnson; several nephews and nieces.

A service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 11:00am at Cumby Family FuneralService, Archdale, with Pastor John Shields officiating. Interment will follow in Graham Memorial Park in Graham. The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, from 6:00- 8:00pm, at the funeral home.
