Douglas Barry Parker

Mr. Douglas Barry Parker, 69, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, August, 1, 2017, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

Doug was born February 20, 1948, in Greensboro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and golfing. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Laura and William Jenkins, father, Golden Douglas Parker, and brother-in-law, James Alan Yarborough.

He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Deborah Yarborough Parker; two sons, Jason Parker and Brad Parker; daughter, Meredith Parker and significant other, Chris Trapp; three grandsons, Cameron Lutz, Chase Lutz, and Liam Trapp; two brothers, Curtis Parker and wife, Lois, and Will Jenkins and wife, Kim; and two sisters, Pamela McElroy and husband, Raymond, and Paula Kelly and husband, Adam. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Robin and Leo Olivares and Debbie and Keith Yarborough; nieces and nephews, Amber, Justin, Amanda, Mitchell, Amber, and Krista; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 9 at the residence.
