Gayle F. Cain

TRINITY- Gayle F. Cain, 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

He was born May 27, 1939 to Connie A and Gertrude Lewallen Cain in Davidson County. He moved to Trinity at the age of 3 to a family farm and was raised to enjoy a simple life. He remained a lifelong resident of Trinity until his passing.

He met the love of his life, Judie, in 1960. He married her in 1962 and loved her faithfully for over 56 years.

He was a master mechanic and rarely met a piece of machinery or engine he couldn’t tackle. He owned a local automotive machine shop and worked every day until his health declined. He enjoyed watching football with his son and grandsons. He also had a passion for trains he shared with his grandsons. But his most joy and proudest moments always involved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren.

He is survived by his family, who loved and cherished him dearly.

His wife: Judie McDowell Cain of the home; his daughters, Angela Leigh Cain of the home, Kathi and husband Scott Hicks of Trinity, and Tina Nelson of Bradenton, FL; his son, Scott and wife Cammie Cain of Trinity.

He had 4 grandsons, Eric Hicks of Trinity, Blake and wife Felicia Hicks of Trinity, Matt Cain of Palatka, FL, and Ryan Cain of Trinity. He had 4 great grandchildren, Hailey Marie Hicks, Nicholas Scott Hicks, Ella Faith Hicks, and Peyton Marie Hicks.

A service to celebrate Gayle’s life will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 3 pm, from the Friendly Baptist Church on New Street in High Point. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
