Gene Darrell Vestal

Mr. Gene Darrell Vestal, 82, of Trinity, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at his residence.

Born September 12, 1935, in Randolph County, Gene was the son of the late Martin Van Buren Vestal and Mildred White Vestal. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by eight siblings. Gene owned and operated the former Archdale 76 service station and later opened Vestal Wholesale. He was a generous giver and was always willing to help out others in the community.

Gene is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Peterson Vestal, of the home; five children, Sherry Andrews, Yvonne Cruthis and husband, Keith, Bobby Barnes and wife, Tamara, Duane Vestal and wife, Lori, all of Trinity, and Shawna Huge and husband, Patrick, of Taylorstown, VA; nine grandchildren, Deanna Wheat, Jayson Willard, Tara Coenen, Erica Cruthis, Brittany Benfield, Olivia Yokely, Zach Huge, Ashton Huge-Kosier, Maclain Huge; and nine great grandchildren.

Service and entombment will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the mausoleum chapel of Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Bobby Loving.
