J. Phillip Collett

LEXINGTON – James Phillip Collett, 55, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence.

He was born May 4, 1962, in Guilford County and was the son of James Warner Collett and the late Leona Covington Collett.  Prior to his disability retirement, he was employed as a machinist.  He was a gifted and creative artist and especially enjoyed working on motorcycles.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Deanna Sims.

He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Silveri and her husband, Matthew; a son, Dustin Collett; two grandchildren, Tanner and Alexis Silveri; his father, James W. Collett, all of Lexington; a sister, Norma Howerton of Owensboro, Kentucky; and a nephew, Hayden

Funeral service celebrating Phillip’s life will be held 11:00 AM  Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the Rev. James Capps officiating.  Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
