James Ray Doiron was born January 28th, 1945, to Madison and Vinettey Doiron of Starks, LA; he passed away Sunday, April 21st, 2024, at his home in Greensboro, NC.

James lived the majority of his adult life in Orange, TX and Starks, LA until he moved to North Carolina in 2019.  James worked as a pipe fitter for a number of years and then became the small business owner and operator of an auto detailing business for 20 years.  James was a longtime loyal supporter of the local/state police force, as well as, just about any “worthy” cause which was in need of fundraising.  He loved to “help out” in any way he could!  Cowboys, Nascar and family were his life and nothing else made him happier; except maybe yard work… James has been a faithful member of Central Triad Church for many years.

James is survived by his former wife Shirley Doiron-Redd; currently, Margaret Clark his loving wife/boss of 34 years; his children, Terry (& Whitney) Doiron, Ricky (& Heather) Doiron, Annette (& Michael) Kelly and Clay Woodard.  He is also survived by his sisters, Elaine Kingery, Nelvie Elvemire, Linda (& Chuck) Anderson, Louise (& John) Ledoux and his brother, Gerald Doiron.  James was affectionately known as “PawPaw” by a HOST of grandkids, Jordan, Tanner, Taryn, Brooke, Macy, Katelyn, Nicholas, Hannah Mikelle, Corbin Shane, Bailey Victoria, Dakota, Breanna, Sydney, Savannah, Savannah Grace, Addison Eloise and Sadie Lane.  James is also blessed with a plethora of great grandkids, nieces, and nephews!

James Ray Doiron is best remembered as a faithful friend, a colorful character, and a lover of souls; he will be missed by many.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be contributed to the NextGen scholarship fund in his name; https://centraltriadchurch.com/next-gen-sponsors.  NextGen is a youth conference produced by Central Triad Church of Winston-Salem, NC.
