John Kenneth McAdden, 93, of Asheboro passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
John was born February 15, 1924 in High Point to the late, John Wesley McAdden and Clara May Albertson McAdden. Also preceding him in death was his wife Erma Harris McAdden, a daughter; Jean Welch, a sister; Lorraine Chrisco, a brother; Joseph Daniel McAdden and a great-great grandson; Colt Matthews.
John lived in High Point until 1980 when he moved to Asheboro. He worked many years for Amos Hosiery. He enjoyed relaxing on the bank of a river while fishing.
Those who will cherish John’s memories are his daughters; Wanda Manring of Thomasville, Brenda Hughes of Asheboro, sisters; Edith Yarborough of Sophia, Clorese Kennedy , grandchildren; Tammy Parham and husband, Jimmy of Asheboro, Michael Lewis and wife, Shelia of Lexington, great grandchildren; Alicia Matthews and husband, Stuart, Ashley Cruz and husband, Joseph, Amber Lewis and Austin Lewis and great-great-grandchildren; Maggie, Alexis, Cheyanne, Lucas. Also, his friend and fishing buddy, Bob Waycaster.
A service to honor John’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road in Archdale with Rev. William Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
