ARCHDALE- Julius E. Lambeth, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017.

He was born on April 9, 1931 in High Point, to the late Marvin and Ruby Elliott Lambeth and he had been a resident of this area all of his life.  He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked for the City of High Point as a building inspector, and retired after 30 years of service. He was a long time active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, and he was a member of Bush Hill Masonic Lodge, #732 A.F. & A.M. for 50 years. He formerly had volunteered with Guilford County Environmental Services for 10 years. He served as chief over the Elliott Clan, and he coordinated their gathering at the Scottish Highland games, held at Grandfather Mountain. In his spare time, Julius enjoyed designing plans for homes and wood working; especially carving walking canes. He was a true “Mountain Man”. His true love and passion was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Chauncey and Harold Lambeth, and a sister Linda Orr.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his sons, Dan Lambeth, Steve Lambeth, and Chris Lambeth; his daughter, Julie Lambeth; his brother James Lambeth and his wife Betsy; his sister, Margaret Stephenson; his grandchildren, Dakota Lambeth, Jason Lambeth, and Laura Lambeth; a great granddaughter, Bailey Lambeth. Also surviving are his brother in law, Kenneth Orr, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Julius’ life will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 2 pm, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, with Reverend Ashley Cyre officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Military Honors accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 1, from 6 until 8 pm, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
