Kenneth Ray "Ken" Taylor

Thomasville – Kenneth Ray “Ken” Taylor, 72, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Thomasville Medical Center.

He was born on July 2, 1945 in Guilford County, a son of the late Kenneth Vernon Taylor and Lena Pierce Taylor. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during Vietnam.  He was an active member of Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Archdale, where he served in various capacities. Kenneth was well known as the “Can-Do Guy” and was a craftsman by trade.   He enjoyed horse shoe crafts and craft shows, and participating in the Senior Games of Davidson County. He was a member of American Legion Post 8, in Lexington and the Memorial Day Parade Committee in Thomasville.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Young and Jeanette Ritch, and one sister-in-law, Ruth Taylor.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Cassie Golden Taylor of the residence; two sons, Tim Taylor and his fiancé, Michelle Norman of Trinity and Kenneth Robert Taylor and wife, Jeannie of Thomasville; one daughter, Lavonda Glover and husband, Phillip of Connersville, IN; one brother, Don Taylor of Inverness, FL; one sister, Pat Capps and husband, Hugh of Archdale; five grandchildren, Cierra Forrester, Brandon Taylor, Mikayla Taylor, Maxwell Storie and Natalie Snyder; and one great-granddaughter, Blaire Forrester.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, 10508 N. Main Street, Archdale, with Bishop Bryan Adkins and Pastor Bart Adkins officiating.  A visitation will follow the service at the church.  Interment with military honors will be Friday, September 22, 2017, at 10:00 am, at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury.
