Leona Covington "Lee" Collett

Lexington-Leona Covington “Lee” Collett, 72, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017.

She was born on January 15, 1945 in Guilford County, to the late Ernest and Rosie Greene Covington.

A resident of this area all of her life, she was a home maker and she was a member of Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church; where she taught the Teen Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Wesleyan church for over 50 years.  Lee loved the Lord and shared his love and mercy with anyone who talked to her. Lee enjoyed cooking, reading the bible and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her brother, Gilbert Covington, and her sisters, Geraldine Stacey and Norma Jean Covington.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 56 plus years, James Collett; her children, Phillip Collett and Norma Howerton; her grandchildren, Jessica Silveri and her husband Matthew, Dustin Collett and Hayden Howerton; her great grandchildren, Tanner and Alexis Silveri.

A service to celebrate Lee’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 2 pm, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend James Capps officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
