THOMASVILLE-Lois Wilkes King, 88, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017.
She was born on May 3, 1929 in Pulaski County, VA, to the late Spencer and Florence Cressell Breeden. A resident of this area all of her life, she retired from High Point Furniture, after 25 years of service and she was a member of New Covenant Church of God. Lois enjoyed playing bingo, scratch offs and word puzzles. She loved watching Jimmy Swaggart and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband Frank Wilkes and 3 brothers, Elwood, James and Howard Breeden.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Sandra Stevenson, Bonnie Lawson, Teresa Vernon and husband Robin, Kenneth Wilkes and wife Beth, and Sherrie Lawson; her brother Vernon Breeden; her sister Avis Cox and her husband Wayne. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Steven Wilkes, Frank Edwards and wife Lisa, Brad Lawson and wife Fabiola, Davey Lawson, Dusty Lawson and wife Julie, Christy Riley and husband Bobby, Tiffany Robinson and husband Joe, Tammy Netting and husband Eljiah, Bradley Shelton, Jeffrey Lawson and Brandon Lawson; her great grandchildren, Heather Antill, Tyler Edwards, Samantha Edwards, Kayla Dillon, Nathan Edwards, Allea Ellis, Bradley Lawson, Mason Lawson, Javier Lawson, Michael Ginn, David Lawson, Andrew Lawson, Allisa Lawson, Dayton Lawson, Josie Lawson, Cody Severt, Hunter Vernon, Nicholas Boyington, Harley Frazier, Ethan Netting, Elliott Netting, Colten Shelton, Camden Kress, Joseph Edwards and Gavin Shelton.
A service to celebrate Lois’ life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 2 pm, at New Covenant Church of God, Archdale, with Pastor Riley Puckett and Reverend Dr. Stephen Disher officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale,and other times will be at her residence.
