Lynn Bodenheimer Smith

TRINITY-Lynn Bodeheimer Smith, 66, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

She was born on March 19, 1951 in High Point, daughter of the late Paul and Hilda Jones Bodenheimer. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a 1969 graduate of Allen Jay High School and received her Undergraduate Degree from Appalachian State University in 1973.  She went to work for the Randolph County School System teaching the 7^th grade at Trinity Junior High (now Archdale/Trinity Middle School) and retired in 2003, after 30 years of service. She was an active member of Grace Church in High Point, where she taught the children’s church, was involved in the bus ministry, SOZO (a prayer and healing ministry) and the counseling ministry. Lynn enjoyed crafting and craft shows; especially in Ramseur and the Oak Hill Friends Meeting Christmas craft show.  Her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her brother, David Bodenheimer.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 45 plus years, Stephen “Steve” Smith; her daughter, Allie Rebecca Dallman and husband Dallas; her brothers, Mickey Bodenheimer and his wife Judy, Mark Bodenheimer and his wife Sandy and Terry Bodenheimer; her sister, Melba Osborne and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Lynn’s life will be held on Sunday, May 28, at 1:30 pm at Grace Church, with Pastor Rodney Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, from 6 until 8 pm, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
