MIchael Jeffrey Ilderton,Jr.

On June 18, 2017, Michael Jeffrey Ilderton, Jr. died unexpectedly of a drug overdose. Michael struggled with addiction for several years and sadly, it ended his life. Michael was born on April 27, 1993 in High Point, North Carolina, and was the son of Michael and Nicole (Pompei) Ilderton. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and then graduated from Northern Guilford High School.

Michael was full of life. His smile, his laughter, and his personality were all very contagious and loved by all. Because of his outgoing personality, Michael never met a stranger. Michael was an avid outdoorsman whether it was hunting or working. Every day during deer season, you would find him in his deer stand.

 Michael is survived by his parents Mike and Nicole, his sisters Alex and Maggie. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Elaine and Roger Pompei of Bethesda, MD, and his parental grandfather, Clarence Ilderton, Sr. of High Point, NC. He is predeceased in death by his paternal grandmother, Wanda Ilderton. Michael is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 A funeral mass for Michael will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and officiated by Rev. Vincent Smith, OSFS and Rev. Joseph Zuschmidt, OSFS. A reception will be held afterwards at the church.

  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following: Mustard Tree Foundation (mustardtree.net), High Point YMCA, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School.   The family would like to thank everyone for all the outpouring of love and support that has been given.
