Margaret Steckler Harvell, 94 of High Point died Wednesday at her home. Born March 20, 1923 in Elgin, North Dakota she is a daughter of the late Alexander Steckler and Lena Ehrmantrout Steckler. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mrs. Harvell had worked at Acme Sample, Snyder Paper, Thomasville Products and retired from Quality Catering at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harvell was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Harvell in 2007, two daughters, Norma Jean Harvell and Kathleen Denise Harvell Price and a son in law Mark C. Pickett. Also preceding her in death are brothers; John Steckler and wife Hanna, Jake Steckler and wife Irene, Joe Steckler and wife Mary, Alexander Steckler, Jr. and Frank Steckler.
Mrs. Harvell is survived by three children; Gary Lloyd Harvell and wife LindaLea of Grovetown, GA, Patricia Ann Harvell Pickett of Luray, VA and Maria Roxanna Harvell of High Point, six grandchildren; Derrick Scott Burgess, Jonathan Alexander Harvell, Margaret Ann Heather Somers, Mark Christopher Pickett II, Natalie Ada Pickett, Ashley Price and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Mike Steckler, Tony Steckler and wife Anna (Bachler) Steckler, Pete Steckler and a sister Maggie Hegel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harvell will be held 1:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Friends are also invited to join the family for refreshments after the interment at Immaculate Heart of Mary St. Edwards Meeting Room “A”.
