TRINITY – Jamie Mildred Green Saferight, 81, died Friday, April 12, 2024, at her residence.
She was born August 15, 1942, in Guilford County and was the daughter of the late James Turner and Bertha Surprise Mawyer Green. She retired from Columbia Food Market in High Point where she served as a bookkeeper for several years. Mildred was a member of Archdale First Church of God and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed puzzle books, flower gardening and fishing, but her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Saferight, whom she married on April 6, 1968; two sisters, Donle Saunders and Wanda Young; and brother, Clifton Green.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Jamie Beck (Donald) of Archdale and Shelly Witcher (Chad) of Trinity; son, Jayson Saferight (Jennifer) of Archdale; five grandchildren, Mackenzie Nichols (Dylan), Chase Witcher, Sam Beck, Jake Saferight and Jaxon Saferight; two sisters, Liz Church and Evalene Young (Terry), both of Trinity; brother, Curtis Green (Glenda) of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Mildred’s life will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Archdale First Church of God with Pastor Hallie Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:45 to 11:45 AM Saturday at the church prior to the service.
