Nancy Carmichael Dabbs, 81, passed away June 17, 2017. She was born January 17, 1936, in Guilford County, NC, to the late John William and Letha Mae Kennedy Carmichael. Nancy retired from the accounting department at Belk after 20 years of service. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Clay Dabbs; daughter, Yvonne Morgan; sister, Dorothy Stone; and three brothers, J.W. Carmichael, Charles Carmichael and James Carmichael.
Survivors include her son, William ‘Butch’ Dabbs (Cindy) of Archdale; two daughters, Tammy Ziglar (Tim) of Wallburg, and Gloria Pratt (Bill) of Goldsboro, NC; son-in-law, Barry Morgan of Wallburg; two sisters, Carol Mason (Jack) of Archdale, and Judy Barneycastle (Foy) of Leasburg, NC; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Carmichael of Thomasville, and Ruby Carmichael of High Point; nine grandchildren, Jessica Morgan, Amy Hughes (Brian), Kelly Hale (Kevin), Bobby Dabbs, Dawn Carlson (Dan), Heather Curran (Brody), Stacey Robinson (Daniel), Sara Reed (Will) and Austin Kestler (Jessica); seven great grandchildren, Jordan, William, Jacob, Joshua, Lynnley, Harper and Aidan; and her life-long friend, Sue Rich.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Nancy, especially her hospice nurse, Cathy Moffitt and caregivers, Angela Palmer and Marion Dunigan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Floral Garden Park Mausoleum.
