Nellie (Branton) Mason

Mrs. Nellie Branton Mason, 98, of Westchester Manor, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 5th. Mrs. Mason was born on September 10, 1919 in Bryson City, North Carolina to Tildon and Lou Wiggins Branton. Mrs. Mason and her husband moved to the Allen Jay community in 1957 and were members of Fairfield Baptist Church in Archdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wransom Robert Mason, one granddaughter, Justine Annette Frazier, one brother, Lester (Maryanna) Branton, six sisters, Eva Branton, Mrs. Ed (Bert) Cunningham, Mrs. Ed (Belle) Ball, Mrs. Clyde (Maggie) Settlemyre, Mrs. Clyde (Gladys) Smith, Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) Anderson.

Left to cherish her memory are four children: Mr. Thad (Hannah) Mason of Thomasville, Mrs. George (Judy) Wilson of High Point, Ms. Patricia Mason of High Point, and Mr. David (Karen) Mason of Greensboro; eight grandchildren: Mrs.Chris (Deborah) Mason of Thomasville, Ms. Dana Mason of Savannah, Georgia, Mr. Joseph (Susan) Frazier of Archdale, Ms. Naomi Ruth Haney of Mooresville, NC, Mrs. Dennis (Andrea) Kestner of Thomasville, Mr. Phillip (Jillian) Ball of Asheboro, Ms. Kathryn Mason of Savannah, Georgia and Ms. Olivia Mason of Boone, North Carolina, and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8th at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

We wish to thank her daughter, Patricia Mason, for the constant care she gave her mom, especially during the last six months. Also, special thanks to Hospice and the Westchester Manor for her care.
