Reba (Wilson) Hill

MILTON, NC - On June 20 after an extended battle with cancer, Reba, 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with family by her side.

Reba was born in Cane River Township in Yancey County, NC to Gilbert and Ethel Wilson who precede her in death. She was a long time resident of Randolph and Caswell Counties.  She retired from Baker Furniture of High Point in 2007 where she worked for over 30 years. All who knew her know she embodied a strong, work ethic in all areas of life, for example, she was the first in her family to graduate from high school;  North Buncombe High School class of 1961. Reba is also known for her kind and gentle spirit and a contagious laugh. She brought joy to all her knew her, particularly for those who had the opportunity to go fishing with her. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and was a continual devoted fan year after year.

She is survived by, her husband of 55 years, Gary R. Hill, two daughters Kim Marley and husband Joey, Deanene Deaton and husband Greg. One sister, Ruvina Hensley of Bernardsville; five grandchildren, Bradley Felts (Chrystle), Jason Marley (Jo Beth), Amanda Tucker (Jess), Russell Deaton (Meredith), and Heather Edwards (Ryan), seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2017, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, NC.

A memorial service honoring Reba’s legacy will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, NC, with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating.  Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro, NC.
