Welcome to the memorial page for

Robert Davidson

February 1, 1926 ~ June 14, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Robert (Bob) Davidson was born February 1, 1926 in Belfast, Ireland to the late Robert and Mary Jane Davidson.  He was born into a large family consisting of three brothers and two sisters. The family was a big and loving family who cared deeply for each other. They resided in Ireland until Bob was age eleven when his Father’s job relocated the family to Coventry England.  Thus, began Bob’s love for culture, travel and language.

Bob was also one of “The Greatest Generation”.  He served beside the American troops in the British Royal Army during WWII. He counted it an honor to be an ally to the U.S. and had great allegiance to the British Royal Army.

Bob was a mechanical engineer with a degree in chemical engineering. He was also a very successful businessman in the plastics industry. He was an executive with companies such as Shell Oil, Argus, and owned and operated several companies himself.  Through his business ventures, he resided in cities such as Alberta, Canada, Atlanta, Chicago, to name a few - finally retiring in High Point, NC.  Regardless of his many accomplishments, Bob considered his greatest moment to be the day he became an American Citizen.

Bob was proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his one and only son, Robert Davidson, Jr. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Edith (Carroll) Davidson, one brother, Harry Davidson (Sharon) of Boston, MA and one sister, Elizabeth Davidson of Battleground, WA, daughter-in-law, Teresa Davidson, granddaughters Nicole Kimble and Natalie (Wayne) Mann all of Raleigh, NC and four Great-Grandchildren:  Cooper, Laney, Grayson and Liam; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews who were very dear to him.
