Ruby (Gregory) Evans

Mrs. Ruby G. Evans, 92, resident of High Point, died May 27, 2017 at her home with her family close by.

Ruby was born January 7, 1925 in Bonifay, FL, a daughter to the late Rufus D. and Evie Donald Gregory.  She was raised in Columbus, GA, and later moved to this area where she worked at Flowers Bakery.  In 1946 she married Edmond Lloyd Evans who preceded her in death in 2012.  She was also preceded by her four siblings.

Surviving are two daughters, Jane Hoover and husband Larry of Archdale and Judy Carrick of High Point; five grandchildren, Bryce Hoover and wife Ingrid, Kyle Hoover and wife Jessica, Jay Hoover and wife Erika, Jordan Carrick and Paige Carrick Turner and husband Michael; and five great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Marcus Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC, 27262 or The Gideons International, P.O.
