Scotty Jay Carmichael

Scotty Jay Carmichael, 60, of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Hospice Home of High Point after a long illness.

He was born August 28, 1957, in High Point and was the son of Dorothy Hepler Carmichael and the late John William Carmichael, Jr.  He worked in maintenance with the Baptist Children’s Home of Thomasville for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Davis Carmichael of Thomasville; three sons, Joshua Dale Carmichael and his wife, Jennifer, and Duncan Davis Carmichael, both of Thomasville, and Patrick Scott Carmichael and his wife, Aliesha; one granddaughter, Gwyn Carmichael, all of Morganton; his mother, Dorothy Hepler Carmichael of Salisbury; a sister, Kathy Scott of Lexington; a brother, Sandy Carmichael of Jacksonville, FL; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
