Versie Johnson Weatherman

ARCHDALE-Versie Johnson Weatherman, 81, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017.

She was born on June 13, 1936 in Yadkin County, daughter of the late Raymond and Louisa Marion Johnson. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a homemaker and she attended the Church of God in Jonesville. Versie enjoyed old country and gospel music; particularly Elvis Pressley and traveling; especially to the beach and mountains. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; whether at family gatherings, or going to the beach or mountains with them. She was a loving wife; mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, and she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents; preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Roger and Jimmy Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 62 years, Harvey Weatherman; her children, Calvin Weatherman and his wife Ronda, Linda Tesh and her husband Billy; her sister, Ann Wheeler. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kim Calhoun and her husband Jimmy, Kristy Johnson and her husband Michael, Jeffrey Weatherman and his wife Ashley, Amy Lowman and her husband Jeff; her great grandchildren, Sara, Luke Julia, and Tiffany, who along with Aleisha Mullis, helped take care of her “Granny”; her sisters in-law, Beatrice Anderson and Clarine Johnson.

A service to celebrate Versie’s life will be held on Thursday, July 6, at 1 pm, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, with Reverend Jimmy Welborn officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:45 am until 12:45 pm at the funeral home.
