Warren Hardy "June Bug" Cox, Jr.

THOMASVILLE - Warren Hardy “June Bug” Cox, Jr, 69, died Monday, June 19, 2017, at his residence.

He was born June 9, 1948, in Virginia and was the son of Catherine Hancock Cox and the late Warren Hardy Cox, Sr.  He retired from furniture manufacturing and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Coltrane; and two brothers, Tim Cox and Cecil Cox.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine “Kathy” Todd Cox, whom he married on June 7, 1972; two daughters, Charlene Stout and her husband, Scott, of Thomasville, and Angie Martin and her husband, Bruce, of Clemmons; seven grandchildren, Hunter Mason, Brandon Stout, Evan Lee Stout, Jayla Marie Stout, Kayleigh Ann Stout, Rylee Ann Martin and Olivia Jo Martin; his mother, Catherine Hancock Cox of Archdale; and a brother, Billy Joe Cox of High Point.

Funeral service celebrating June Bug’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2017, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the Rev. Roger Carmichael officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 PM Friday at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
