High Point-Steven “Steve” Wayne McNeil, 70, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Wesley Long Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Glenda (Wood) McNeil to whom he was married for 51 years.
Mr. McNeil was born on December 28, 1945 in High Point, a son of the late James Frank and Mildred Rose (Peace) McNeil. As a local businessman, he owned and operated multiple furniture supply companies in the High Point area. His hobbies included woodworking, flying airplanes and racing sports cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Andy McNeil and his wife, Shannon of Oak Ridge, and Matt McNeil and his wife, Christy of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Jessica McNeil and Holden McNeil both of Los Angeles; two brothers, Ronald McNeil and his wife, Judy of Springfield, IL, and Craig McNeil and his wife, Donna of High Point; a sister-in-law, Lynn Kirk and her husband, Robert of High Point; and a brother-in-law, Curtis Wood and his wife, Carol of Myrtle Beach, SC.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016 in the Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cone Health Cancer Center, 1200 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
