Adolfine Babette Riegel Manring, 86, of High Point, died, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at her residence.
A native of Germany, she was born March 25, 1937, daughter of the late Otto Riegel and the late Anna Rosina Riegel. After surviving in post-war Germany, she immigrated to America in 1957. Soon after immigrating she met her future husband, William “Bill” Manring, and they were married on March 26, 1960. Adolfine spent over 30 years working as an upholsterer in the furniture industry. She was a hardworking woman, and always put her family first. Adolfine enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her doll collection. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lorenz Michael Riegel and Otto Michael Riegel; and sisters, Maria Anna Eick, Betty Riegel, Franziska Riegel, and Elisabethta Manderbach.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 63 years, William Arthur Manring of the home; sons, Kirk Manring and Ben Manring; daughter, Annette Croyle; grandchildren, Daniel Manring, Brittany Whitfield, Lauren Wynters, Casey Croyle, Cole Manring, and Luke Manring; great-grandchildren, Elijah Whitfield, Arielle Whitfield, Lydia Whitfield, Leah Manring, George Manring, Sophia Wynters, Moria Croyle, Miah Wilson, Calisse Croyle, Coven Manring, and Hadley Manring; and sister, Anneliese Riegel.
The family will receive friends at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Rev. Thomas Cruthis officiating.
A private family committal service will be held at Guilford Memorial Park.
