Alene (Dunlap) Briggs

Alene Dunlap Briggs died on May 10, 2020 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro, NC after a period of declining health.

Born September 11, 1929 in High Point, NC, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Dunlap and Stella Rose.  Alene was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family.  Mrs. Briggs was married to James Graham Briggs for 51 years before he preceded her in death on October 20, 2000.

Mrs. Briggs is survived by two children; Gerald Briggs (Jean) of Asheboro, NC and Kathy Briggs McKenzie (John) of High Point, NC.; six grandchildren, Kathy Graham (Paul) of Wilmington, NC, Kim Payne (Brandon) of Raleigh, NC, Kevin Briggs of Asheboro, NC, Ashley McCloy (Daniel) of Raleigh, NC, John McKenzie, Jr. "Bo" of Wilmington, NC, and Briggs McKenzie of High Point, NC.  She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Jackson Graham, Clint Graham, McKenzie Briggs, Landon Briggs, Payton Briggs, Kylah Tonkin, Stella Rose McCloy, Henrietta McCloy, Emma Payne and Mia Payne.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff at Clapp's over the last three years, especially Teresa Synowiez, AGNP, for her amazing care and counseling during the final days of her life.

There will be a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
