Alice Virginia (Ward) Hood

Alice Ward Hood, 95, of Pleasant Garden, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Atrium Health- High Point Medical Center.

Born in Guilford County, to the late John Ward and late Gertrude Fields, Alice will forever be remembered as not only a hard worker, but more importantly the kindest and most loving person you will ever meet. She worked as a payroll clerk for Singer Hosery Mills but her work as a mother and grandmother was her greatest achievement in her eyes. She was a wonderful friend and confidant to those she loved dearly. She was a lifelong member of Springfield Baptist Church and worshipped her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by her loving husband, Alfred Hood; son, Terry Hood; daughter-n-law, Sissie Hood; granddaughter, Ashley; grandson, TW; brothers, Harrison Ward, Frank Ward, Monroe Ward; sisters, Clara Badges, Bessie Crittendon.

Surviving Alice is her son, Steve Hood (Gracie Ferrell); grandsons, Keagan, Steven, Chance; granddaughters, Madison, Amber, Jessica, Christine, Danielle; sister, Carolyn and several other great grandchildren who she loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Springfield Baptist Church in High Point, NC with Pastor Bobby Loving officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springfield Baptist Church general funds.

The family will receive friends and family at 4:00pm Friday, April 26, 2024 also at Springfield Baptist Church in High Point, NC.
