Alta Lee (Finney) Murphy

Ms. Alta Lee Finney Murphy, 77, of High Point, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Born May 12, 1940, in Yadkin County, Alta was the daughter of the late Valk Finney and Ina Lee Norman Williamson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband. Alvin Delaine Murphy. Alta was a member of Wellspring Community Church in Thomasville, and retired from the Wesleyan Christian Academy.

Survivors include four children, Delana Murphy, of High Point, Dale Murphy and wife, Susie, of Jamestown, SC, Jeannene Klimczak, of Marion, SC, and Scott Murphy, of High Point; two sisters, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Jack Tripp, and Rev. Dan Shoaf. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank to Ann and her crew of the ICU staff at High Point Regional Hospital for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wellspring Community Church Building Fund, to Pine Grove Baptist Church, or to the Wesleyan Christian Academy.
