Anna Marie Owens

Anna Marie Owens, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord on February 14, 2020.  It's appropriate God would call her home on Valentine’s Day, the day of love as she had a heart of gold, showing God's love to those she came in contact with.  No, was never a part of her vocabulary as anytime she was called upon or saw a need, she would drop everything to help.  Anna was a "caretaker" most of her adult life and many of us benefited from her willingness to give of herself and her time.  She was Florence Nightingale, Betty Crocker and Ms. Fix it, rolled into one.  She was very active in her church holding several positions including choir director.  Anna had a voice like an angel and is now singing in Heaven's choir.  She will be truly missed by all of us that had the privilege of knowing her.  Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Anna was born on March 3rd, 1957 in Hampton, Virginia to Elmer W Owens and Lera McDowell Owens.  She was preceded in death by her dad, Elmer W. Owens, her uncle and aunt, Lee and Etta Bray and brother-in-law Isaac Farlow.

Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Calvin Burnette; her mother, Lera M. Owens; brother, Steven Owens; sister, Vickie Farlow; nephews, Will Owens and Jeffery Farlow (Marie); nieces, Catherine Ritch (Michael) and Tonya Ferguson; several great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including Patricia Farlow, and Charles and Sharon Hammer.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Wesleyan Church in Sophia, Rev Wayne Byrd officiating.
