ARCHDALE – Arnold Ray Canter, 78, died Friday, March 20, 2020, at High Point Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1941, in Greensboro and was the son of the late Frank and Mary Taylor Canter. Arnold was a humble, loving family man who never met a stranger, and loved the flea market, hunting, and working in the hay field. He was a retired truck driver for Lilly and a farmer of small gardens, chickens and goats.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanie Wilson Canter, whom he married on July 14, 1961; daughter, Lori Davis (Eric) of Trinity; son, Jeff Canter (Chan) of Archdale; four grandchildren, Amanda Cox (Michael) of Kernersville, Casey Davis of Trinity, Austin Canter and Colton Canter, both of Archdale; great-grandson, Benjamin Cox of Kernersville; three brothers, Jimmy Canter (Doris), Elbert Canter (Pat), and Melvin Canter (Judy); and sister, Susie Martin (Ron).
Graveside service celebrating Arnold’s life will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will speak with friends following the service on Wednesday at the cemetery. There will be no formal visitation, but friends may informally pay their respects from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
