Mrs. Athalee Yvonne Brown Allred, 82, of Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018, while surrounded by her family.
Born September 20, 1935, in Putnam, Athalee was the daughter of the late Roscoe Eugene and Mary Jane Nall Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Athalee grew up in Moore County and was a former member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Robbins. On July 1, 1955 she was married to Charles Allred. She was a homemaker, and was a former volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was a member of Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church, where she formerly served as a youth leader. Athalee will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved and treasured the moments spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband Charles, of the home; three children, Rick Allred and wife, Linda, of Thomasville, Lori Cecil and husband, Chuck, of Thomasville, and Amy Folwell, of Liberty; a sister, Jacqueline Davis and husband, Ferman; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Pastor Rodney Hedrick. Entombment will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour to the service, and at the home of her granddaughter, Tera Shell, following the service.
