THOMASVILLE- B. Leon McCrosky, 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 22, 2024.

He was born on June 9, 1957, in High Point, a son of the late Bill and Faye Neely McCrosky.  A resident of this area all his life, he attended Trinity High School where he played football. Leon worked in the furniture industry for several years subsequently going to work for Community Handicap Transportation. He owned and operated a lawn care company and worked part time for Cumby Family Funeral Service, in High Point and Archdale, helping take care of families. He was a long-time member of Heath Church, where he served as a lay minister and Sunday school teacher and was a former member of Central Wesleyan Church, where he served in the same capacities. Leon enjoyed the outdoors; especially traveling to the beach and the mountains, where he enjoyed along with his wife, April, hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway and a picnic at Rainbow Falls. His true love and passion was spending time with his Lord and his family. He will be remembered as a Christian man, with servants’ heart, who was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Henley and two brothers, Gordon, Jr., and Christopher McCrosky.

He is survived by his wife; April Wood McCrosky: his children, Leon McCrosky, Jr.(Lisa), Kristopher McCrosky, Sarah Smith (Jontaylor) and Hannah Fritts and his brother, Ivan McCrosky (Fonda). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Haley, Cierrah, Gavin, Michael, Austin, Leeland, and Raelynn and his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Demitri, Aiyana, Magnolia, Isabella, and Oliver.

A service to celebrate Leon’s life will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, from the Heath Church in Lexington, with Pastor Daniel Downing and Reverend G. Mark Klass, officiating. His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6: 45 p.m. Sunday, at the church. A private committal will be held Monday in the church cemetery.
