Barbara Ann (Higbee) Bartko

JAMESTOWN - Barbara Bartko was an incredible woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed on September 26, 2017, with her husband by her side. She will be greatly missed by many.

She leaves behind her adoring husband of 60 years, Albert (Al), and three children, Mary Ann (Doug) of Louisville, KY; Albert III (Jo Ellen) of Jamestown, NC; and Robert (Samantha) of Heber City, UT. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Aaron, Eric, Lauren, Allison, Albert (Bret), Kathryn, Bianca and Maximus.

Barbara Ann Higbee was born in Youngstown, OH on November 9, 1937. She graduated from Ursuline High School in 1956 and began college classes. Shortly afterwards, she met the love of her life, Albert Bartko, Jr. and they married on September 13, 1958. Together they had rich life full of love, travel and adventure.

Barbara proudly served for years as Director of Admissions at a Pinecrest School in Boca Raton, FL before settling in Jamestown, NC. She was known for her love of children, both in her professional life and among her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, entertaining and a good game of bridge. Her friendly personality always made others feel special. It will be a sunny day when we meet her once again someday.
