Barbara Warren Mason

Barbara Warren Mason, 90, of Wallburg, passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at her home. 

A native of Guilford County, Barbara was born February 22, 1932, to the late Reely Edgar Warren and the late Johnsie Garner Warren. After graduating from high school, she went to work for North State Telephone and then dedicated many faithful years to Henley Paper Company before retiring. Barbara was of the Methodist faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orren Ray Mason. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell (Mickey) E. Meredith Jr. (Bonnie) of Dugspur, Virginia; daughter, Janis Surratt (Randy) of Wallburg, North Carolina; grandchildren, Brandon Meredith (Debi), Paige Everhart (Daniel), Claire Francis (Merrick); great-grandchildren, Cooper Meredith, Tyler Kameh (Lizzie), Douglas Kameh (Sarah), Jax Everhart, Jane Francis; great-great-grandchildren, Oliver Kameh; siblings, Donald Warren (Jane), Toni Taylor (Roger). She also leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver Celia Diaz, who provided countless hours of love and kindness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in the mausoleum chapel at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Garner officiating.

Barbara will lie in state from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Monday, January 23, 2023, and from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hopsice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
