ARCHDALE, NC - Barbara “Bobbie” Parks Carter, 78, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
She was born on September 20, 1941 in Kingsport, TN, daughter of the late Orville and Nina Aiken Parks. A resident of Archdale most of her life, Bobbie was a homemaker, yet more importantly, a humble and loving caregiver. She was a peaceful warrior and a compassionate advocate for her special needs son, continually working through unimaginable complexities to ensure his life was full of fairness, abundance and joy. Her mission in life was to impart compassion, love and joy to those individuals who needed it most.
Bobbie was a member of Joy Community Fellowship. She enjoyed reading and baking, yet her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother (“Granny”), and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Ronald R. “Ron” Carter, and two brothers, Junior Parks and Gary Parks.
Bobbie is survived by her children, Lisa Anderson (Rich), Kristi Whittington (Scott), Shawn Carter, Rene Carter Whitesell (Ronni), Frank Carter and Cinda Carter; her sisters, Joan Smith, Teresa McConnell (Danny), Carol Kestner (Les), and her brother, Sammy Parks (Lisa).
