Barry Jackson
TRINITY – Barry “BoJack” Carl Jackson, 67, died Friday, June 28, 2019, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born July 12, 1951, in High Point to the late Carl and Kit Jackson. Barry graduated from Ragsdale High School in 1969 where he won state wrestling championship in his division. He then went on to graduate with a degree as a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician from GTCC. Barry worked for Tri-City Refrigeration until 1976 when he then received his North Carolina State Refrigeration license and became self-employed under the name of Jackson Refrigeration for 42 years.
Barry loved to play golf and fish, always ready to catch the big one. One of his greatest joys was to follow in his Dad’s footsteps and host family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. A full house was a full heart for Barry. He always strived to live his life to make his Dad proud of him and that was his greatest legacy.
Barry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Hess Jackson; daughters, Jaime Jackson and Brittany Spurlock (Colin), and son, Jordan Jackson (His children are everything he prayed for and they are his pride and joy); six sisters, Cheryl Guerrieri (Joe), Connie White (Spanky), Kim VonCannon (Dewey), Donna Jackson (Phil Luzwick), Kathy Murphy (Jeff), Bonnie Norris (Don); many cousins; 15 nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews.
The memorial service celebrating Barry’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 13, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale. Immediately following the service, Susan would like to invite friends and family to their home for a celebration of Barry’s life catered by BBQ Joe’s.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Sam and Lauren Barnes for opening up their home for them to sleep, shower and enjoy a moment of tranquility at their beautiful home while Barry was hospitalized. Susan would also like to thank Anthony Sexton of Sexton Lawn and Landscape and Ed and Dylan for cleaning up and landscaping their home out of the kindness of his heart to make the home look beautiful for Barry’s celebration.
