Mrs. Belva Jean Frazier Hancock, 85, resident of Archdale, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born March 10, 1933 in High Point, a daughter to the late Johnie William and Helen Wood Frazier. Belva was a graduate of Trinity High School and later Ashmore Business College. She was a member of Archdale Friends Meeting and the John Archdale Sunday School Class. For many years at the Meeting, she served as Secretary, Treasurer, Chairman of the Membership Committee and Recording Clerk of the Monthly Meeting. In her Sunday school class, she also served as Treasurer for many years. Belva was a member of the Trindale Woman’s Club where she served as President. Later, she joined the Archdale-Trinity Woman’s Club where she served as President and Department Chairman. She received the District 7 Club Woman of the Year Award. Belva also proudly served on the Randolph County Jury Commission and spoke fondly of her time working with the other members and the County staff. On September 8, 1953 she married Donald Lloyd Hancock who preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen Hancock and wife Lisa of High Point and Kent Hancock and wife Carla of Archdale; four grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Hancock, Meghan (Josh) Webb, Austin Hancock (Alexandra Petty) and Madison Hancock; one brother, Wayne Frazier and wife Ann of Knoxville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Archdale Friends Meeting with Pastor Ben Hurley officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Meeting. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Archdale Friends Meeting Endowment Fund, 114 Trindale Rd. Archdale, NC, 27263 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC, 27262.
