THOMASVILLE – Bernard Alfred Robles, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at High Point Medical Center.
He was born February 23, 1929, in Santa Barbara County, California, and was the son of the late Barney and Margaret Ruiz Robles. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and loved his country. Bernard retired from Alma Desk and volunteered as a teacher at various Guilford County Schools following retirement. He attended Hillsville Community Baptist and enjoyed singing at church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Lowery Robles, whom he married on September 25, 1954; and one sister.
Bernard is survived by his children, Shana Lefler (Martin) of Trinity, Rodney Robles (Sandra) of Kernersville, and Regina Beck (Randy) of Trinity; seven grandchildren, Michael Skidmore, Jeremy Skidmore (Tanya), Brandon Lowery Robles, Brittany Ann Moose (Caleb), Mary Carol Cousins (Asa), John Benjamin Lookadoo, and Jonathan Fred Perdue (Amanda); and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral service celebrating Bernard’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Rev. Ty Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
